List, This is what I don't get. We give everyone these contracts with clauses in them that make US have to pay out huge sums of money to THEM to get them to leave once they screw up!!! How many of us can negotiate sweet deals like that at our jobs?
Why are we signing people to contracts like these? Why are we not giving bonuses for great work (positive reinforcement) instead of building in incentives for bad behavior? When the city has to settle lawsuits brought against them due to these bad cops, the cops should have to ante up something. I do believe I mentioned this same thing before. It is called "Welcome to the REAL WORLD". Kinda like you break it, you pay. They break the law, they pay. I see I am repeating myself here, but maybe that's because in my mind it bears repeating. --- Annie Young <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > At lunch today with a friend of mine when we talked > about getting rid of > the Police Chief my friend said "they'll never let > him go because the city > with all its financial woes doesn't have $350,000 or > more to buy out his > (the Chief's) contract". > Don't these little "rumbles" that keep happening > with the police and the > citizens cost at least that much or more not only in > real expenses but the > cost of morale and public relations within the > city? > Annie Young > East Phillips > > _______________________________________ > Minneapolis Issues Forum - A Civil City Civic > Discussion - Mn E-Democracy > Post messages to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest option, and more: > http://e-democracy.org/mpls __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
