Not that I'm an attorney, and it's not that I'm actively
calling for the ouster of Chief Olson, but I don't see
why a contribution couldn't be made to the city's
general fund, if he were to resign.

If the truth be known, I don't see the block party as a
viable way to remove the Chief. He''ll go if he chooses to;
there's not enough leverage to force him out against
his will.

And, although I agree with some posters that new
management doesn't guarantees changes, I believe that
good management can accomplish a lot, as long as
there is sufficient power to reassign or terminate
employees. I don't see the problems at the street
level being endemic to the Department.  I have never heard
Olson declare that his officers were misinterpreting or
failing to obey his orders.

So...why doesn't the union support him?
