[TB] I have a hard time being very sympathetic to someone who has violated
the terms of their liquor license 3 times in less than 2 years. After the
first time they should have gotten the message, the second time? There's a
reason that Haskell's and Surdyk's have signs on the door saying they check
IDs of anyone under 30-something, they want to insure that they comply with
the terms of their license.

[TB] While I agree that voter turnout in some wards is much lower than
others, I don't see how we are pitting one ward against another. Do the
wards have opposing interests? What are these interests where the wards
compete?

[TB] We can't blame the Park Board for the redistricting, that's the realm
of the Redistricting Commission which is required by charter to keep the
lines a close to some old lines (circa 1970?) as possible.

[TB] When I was at those hearings I heard people speaking on both sides of
those issues, some supported the plan as presented, others objected. I'm
not sure the City Charter gives the council an option other than adopt the
presented plan.

Same press release quoting Cam Gordon:

[TB] Downtown is a neighborhood, there are something around 19,000 of us
living here. That's just a bit over 2/3 of a ward. Does he really think
that the entire council won't be involved in issues regarding the central
business district?

Is Uptown an island being in one ward? Dinkytown?

[TB] "NOT a Minneapolis issue"
