I was driving through 28th St. and Pleasant Ave. today and found this car parked in the MIDDLE of the street on Pleasant which is a two way street. The driver was standing outside his car next to the passenger door chatting with someone on the sidewalk. A female on sitting on the passenger side. There were about 7 cars behind waiting to get pass, and on my side about 4 other cars trying to get through. This was around 5:30 P.M.
I called 911 and reported the problem. The woman said that other people have already reported the incident but the police are too busy to get over there to take care of the problem. This was the 4th time I've called 911 in the past 3 months regarding similar situations in the same area. Now this is going to sound very racist, but I'll say it anyway. All four times the persons I witnessed double parking during traffic hour were Somalians. Added to my own experience, I constantly hear complaints from customer service people regarding rude treatments by Somalians. Maybe there is a cultural difference that I'm not seeing. But I can see rudeness becoming a huge problem between people and their communities. The latest incident involving Minneapolis officers and a Somalian man filled with over a dozen bullets maybe says a lot about the anger that's floating out there -- be it police officers or front counter service people. Racist? I don't know. Rude? Yeah, and it's getting worst! __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
