After a small taste of spring (summer???) a week or so ago, Im sure there others besides me who are growing weary of this cold blustery weather. BUT next weekend the first weekend of May long range forecasts are calling for temps in the 60s maybe even the 70s. This is terrific because next Saturday is May 4th and that means everyone across the city and beyond can head up to the north side of our fair city to help plant trees lots of em and help celebrate the citywide Arbor Day event at the North Mississippi Regional Park.
If you help, well feed you too! Following lunch well have a festive but short parade along the river to the stunning new Interpretive Center where there will be a program to dedicate the building. Folks are then free to tour the new building and its exhibits. The North Mississippi Regional Park is located at the 49th-53rd Avenue North exit of I-94 in the Camden community on the east side of I-94 between the freeway and the Mississippi River. Additional parking is available at the Jenny Lind School at 50th & Dupont Avenue No. Shuttles will be available to the park. The fun all starts at 9:45 a.m. For a schedule of the days events and to learn more about the park and the Interpretive Center, go to the Camden Community News website at: http://www.camdenews.org/main_news/main_news.htm#01 Arbor Day /Interpretive Center Dedication hotline: 612-673-5342 Join the fun and see this beautiful new park and Interpretive Center.
