Disclosure: I'm a DFL delegate and an unabashed friend
and supporter of Rep. Scott Dibble who is seeking the
60th District Senate seat being vacated by Myron
Orfield.

I just received my second piece of literature from his
opponent, Catherine Shreves. Conspicuously absent from
her piece was any mention of her affiliation with the
DFL party, from which I understand she is seeking an
endorsement.

Earlier today I scanned a Progressive Minnesota
questionnaire Shreves filled out. One question asked
specifically about whether she would challenge a
DFL-endorsed opponent in the primary. Her answer was
guarded--"I do not intend to run against the dfl
endorsement."(Of course I don't intend to eat the rest
of oreos left in the jar at bedtime tonight either,
but I might do that. In fact, it's a good bet.)

This doesn't feel like a serious effort to woo
delegates, which is historically the real battle in
this part of town. It appears more like a campaign
that has abandoned that strategy and is getting ready
to go to the primary.
