I agree that the level of street crime activity in North Phillips is at epidemic proportions. People are buying and selling drugs in every nook and cranny of Ventura Village. Today, a person was selling obviously stolen goods to tree workers out in the alley. When I snapped their picture, the seller began to threaten me. It took police 30 minutes to get there. The officer was passive and non-chalant, joking that if he happened to see the guy, he'd "steal the goods" from the criminal. Why isn't our community saturated with patrol units? What is the use of CODEFOR? What is saddest is that just about everyone I know who lives within a two block radius are decent, hard-working folk who take pride in this community. We are tired of these wasted lives infesting our neighborhood. We need to unify on a very large scale. My crazy vision is 200 of us walking Franklin Avenue every Friday night. Anyone up for a challenge?
