Minneapolis residents are invited to a presentation, Tuesday 14-May, on
'Living Water Gardens' at the Harrison Neighborhood Community Center, 503
Irving Av. N., Mpls (4:00-5:30 pm). This event is free and open to the
public. Some attractive stormwater treatment ponds and raingardens have been
constructed in Minneapolis. I especially like the ponds at the south-west
corner of Lake Calhoun. And the new legislation on phosphorus is a great
step forward. However, I think that we still need more public awareness,
education and action on the issue of contamination degrading the water
quality of our rivers, lakes, creeks and wetlands.

Living Water Gardens are a unique arrangement of water treatment ponds that
blend the disciplines of science, engineering, art, landscaping, education
