The closing of Minnehaha Ave through Minnehaha Park was not a
well conceived idea. The information
given to me from a phone call to the Minneapolis Parks department was that the
road was closed because it had turned into a commuter route. Trucks using the route and speeding
vehicles were cited as problems. I believe
that posting the park police in the park to write tickets, instead of at the
Conoco gas station on the corner of 46th and Hwy 55 would solve the
problem. No truck signs are posted
as well as a speed limit signs. Inconveniencing
everyone that uses the park during the week to stop a few trucks and speeding
cars is not the answer.
