I believe that this issue of proportional representation is unwise. Incompetence and mismanagement comes in all colors... as we can see from the impact of current and former school boards. > I am not quite sure how representative children they are to > represent. Coming from a poor single parent (dysfunctional home), having dropped out of high school, having lived on the streets, having been in trouble with the law, having worked many types of low paying dead-end jobs, having worked my way from unskilled to blue-collar, having worked my way from blue-collar to college graduate, and from college graduate to college instructor, I think that I can relate to and understand the perspectives of many young people regardless of the color of my skin. That is: I understand the struggle, the hardship, and the frustration of trying to make it in America. I ask this question of the DFLers on the list: What do you know about the positions of the DFL endorsed candidates on the following issues? Ability Grouping Charter Schools Class Size Community Schools Core Curriculum Disability Services Diversity ESL Programs Homeschooling Magnet Schools Parental Involvement Profiles of Learning School Choice Sex Education Testing Vocational Education Vouchers What do you know of their specific proposals to improve the Minneapolis Public Schools in the next four years? Who do you support and why?
