It has the stink of fear about it, if you ask me.

I agree completely! The whole system is predicated on the
notion that we should support and vote for the candidates that
best represent our views, not game the system in favor of one
party or another.

I thoroughly agree, and will be agitating for this with
Tim Pawlenty's campaign, for what my $0.02 is worth.

Wow. This may be the first time in list history that Brandon,
Sue, Matthea and I have all agreed on something, political or
otherwise. Something in the water, or maybe the stars? ;)
Speaking of Pride, I'm pleased to say that the party and I
got a warm reception at the Pride Festival, aside from a couple
of cranky sorts who lectured us on how we "had no business being here"
or "should be ashamed to be here". (To their credit, one of the
folks from Wellstone's campaign came over to apologize for the
conduct of their clearly out-of-control supporter in the latter case,
which was very nice of him.) There were also a few people who were
clearly unhappy with what they perceived as the Republican position
on gay rights and just wanted the opportunity to vent (politely) about
it. However, these were far outnumbered by the people who dropped
by to thank us for showing up or to express interest in the party
and its positions on various issues.
I thoroughly enjoyed being there, in spite of the heat &
humidity. Thanks again for the invite, Connie & Eva!
