I talked with Eve White last night and got more information from her. The vacancy rate at CCHT was high -- but it may not have been 50%. Still Eve said it was higher than 10% when the vacancy rate in the private sector was less than 2% which should get alarm bells going.
So I guess my question is, is CCHT part of the affordable housing solution or part of the problem? If people have more questions for Eve White on this, she is glad to answer questions. She is not online, but she can be reached at: 612-275-1040. I do think it's curious that it took these housing providers 3 months to get their numbers into the County. Hopefully this has taught the County that these places need more oversight.
