I think the argument is over titles. Who cares whether Tom Johnson is a registered lobbyist or not.
The fact is, he is a paid consultant for Smith Parker which was hired by the Phillips Partnership to advise THEM on transportation issues surrounding 35W and Lake Street. While Tom Johnson may be working WITH residents on these issues, he clearly is working FOR Smith Parker who is on retainer for the Phillips Partnership. I don't need to know whether he is registered by the state to know where his allegiances are.
