According to the state voter data base, there are at least 28 Thomas L.
Johnsons registered to vote in Minnesota. But there's only one Maria's
Cafe, the E. Franklin restaurant Jim Graham mentions. Fans of the
former Rick's Ol' Time Cafe, a place where Kingfielders lined up on
Saturday mornings for breakfast, will remember Maria from when she
waited tables there. Rick's was a great antidote to the bland food at
Currans. Maria's menu includes some old favorites from Rick's as well
as others from her native Colombia.
For those more interested in the Tom Johnson conspiracy, here are some
leads:
>Minneapolis. St. Paul. Savage, Plymouth and Eagan are tied with two
Tom L. Johnsons apiece. That's sort of interesting when one considers
the historic hegemony Minneapolis had over St. Paul in terms of
Scandinavian heritage.
>There are two Lloyds and two Lyles, but the most common middle name
for Thomas Ls in the voter database is Lee at six individuals.
>The most common birth year for Thomas Ls is 1956 with five
individuals. No other year had more than two.
