I heard a few expressions of this kind of rhetoric, but many more times I heard speakers exhort the crowd to _vote_ and make elected officials accountable. Also, James Everett, who introduced the speakers and talked in between them, a couple of times challenged the police to put on boxing gloves and get in the ring if they wanted to fight with young black men. A boxing match or other sporting event might be a good idea. I remember decades ago there was a much-publicized softball game between the police department's team and a gay bar team. The gay bar won. The police relationship with the gay community seemed to improve after that.
