I don't think what happened friday can be considered as baseball getting their
house in order, we'll still be threatened with relocation unless we build a
stadium. Is anyone aware of our financial house in Minneapolis and the state in
general. We can't seem to do the basics, (hello, Mayor Rybak, remember basic
services.) we can't seem to fund a REAL civilian review board, we can't seem to
fund other departments, we can't seem to protect our water and air, we can't
seem to keep our politicians from staying above board, we can't seem to
reorganize the city so that it works for everyone, we can't seem to get local
government and specifically the park board to listen to neighborhoods and yet a
stadium that will not serve all of us is affordable. Where are the
priorities?????? We voted here in Mpls, we said something a couple of years ago
and if it's not what "we" what to hear we ignore it. But the shame is we will
continue to waste time on this issue. There are far more pressing things at the
table. Clearly the last election mandated that.

I think most people would throw in "some" money for a stadium, but that wasn't
good enough for the twins. They wanted us to foot the entire bill. Now, we do
still live in a capitalist society, right? If baseball is such a wonderful
"product" they won't have any problem finding the money, right? We change the
rules to serve us when we want, and that is bullshit!
But, hey, at least we can debate this unlike other things in our
society.....this is such a wasteful distraction from the real problems. If
throwing money at social ills is not the solution, then it's not the solution
in this case either.
