The 2800 block of Bloomington Ave. and 15th Avenue
experienced a driveby shooting which injured 3
individuals and shot up the block leader's house
this past Wed.  NOTHING got in any media about it.

The Community in organizing to show support and
solidarity with each other, the Police, the
Businesses, the Church Communities.

WE CHALLENGE THE MEDIA TO COVER THIS POSITIVE
NEIGHBORHOOD INITIATIVE
organized the day after the shooting to pull people
out and together.

Block Club Network Night Out
Come Join Your Neighbors in Celebrating Community
and Show a Positive Presence on Friday, September 6th
from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. We will be on the NW corner of
Bloomington and 28th St. for Food, Folks, and Fun!!

Bring your lawn chairs, food to share, music, and
your friendship!

We will have barbeques grills ready to go, food,
music, and activities!!

Come meet your neighbors, learn information about
safety in your neighborhood, development in the
neighborhood and have FUN!!

Since December 2001, over 125 members of Phillips'
Block Club Network have been meeting with
policy-makers, police, and city staff to emphasize the
need to make safety issues in this community a much
higher priority.
