My lunch time reading tells me that the architect has presented a design for the exterior of the new downtown library. I was out of town when the presentation was made to the Library Implementation Committee a collection of library board and city hall types.
see: http://www.skywaynews.net/display/inn_voices/voices01.txt The meeting was a public meeting, MN has an open meetings law that keeps (and maybe this is still a theory) meetings of public bodies open to the public. Apparently a Strib reporter was at the meeting. Guess what? We (the public that is paying for the thing) don't get to see what the architect is proposing. Our mayor supports the coverup. My council rep, Lisa Goodman, has taken the more rational position that the public has a right to know. Mayor, government ... even city government should be open not hiding in a windowless room. Can anyone tell me where to send my check for the Goodman for Mayor campaign fund?
