Normally, I would agree strongly with this position,
however, Mr Biernat confessed and is NOW pleading
innocent.  Under most circumstances, I would be
concerned about a confession given under questioning
without an attorney present, but this guy is a city
councilmember not some petty thief who dropped out
of high school.  His confession, even if false, shows such
poor judgment that his registration is called for.

I think that we can give up any hope of honor in relation
to this case.

If we have to quibble about the meaning of "is" or the
difference between extortion and bribery in relation
to the actions of elected officials then we're really in bad
straights.
