I have reviewed the minutes of all the Shelter Advisory Board meetings since January. When I went to the county web-site to look up the purpose of the Shelter Advisory Board, it clearly stated it was a county board that worked in conjunction with Minneapolis.
What I find absolutely amazing is that there was no mention of any other cities in the county like Edina, St.Louis Park, Golden Valley, Bloomington, Richfield etc.....
So, right now the focus is to make sure we keep any and all kinds of shelter care, supportive and transitional housing in Minneapolis. No original thought extends outside our borders. And from what I read the recommendation is to remove this housing type from the zoning code entirely allowing it to be placed anywhere beneath the radar of any public notice or hearing requirements.
Please tell me I am wrong on this one!
