Mr. Mork Just how blatant do you think these drug dealers are? Do you think they walk around with sandwich signs saying I deal drugs and here's the menu?
Those of us who have LIVED with this problem for years know the signs. There are many of them. Here's an example: Crack head calls his local supplier. The supplier slips the Mickey D's bag in the bush on Franklin and 3rd by the gas station that serves as the drop point for the drugs. You pull the bag out, slip in your $20 and take your little rock of crack. Away you go with no human interaction. Problem comes when crack head doesn't deposit his $20 and takes the crack anyway. Then supplier pulls out his gun and whoop there it is. Bang Bang! A drug deal gone bad. We already know that the flower planters on Franklin serve as drug drops. I personally witnessed a bust this summer with the CRT team when I attended a meeting at the Safety Center on Franklin. My son knows who the local prostitutes are on Franklin. I have already posted previously that he and my neighbor girl can point them out on the way home from school. Funny thing is, I didn't even know what a prostitute was when I was 12. His school principal knows the hookers by name because he has begged them to refrain from propositioning people in front of the school. The good news here is that my son's school finally found a nice new location in the King Field neighborhood and won't have to deal with this issue after this year. Thank God there are good neighborhoods we can send our kids to so they don't have to spend all their time in their own neighborhood. Just because you spend five minutes driving down Franklin and don't get propositioned or see a drug deal doesn't meant the rest of us are making this stuff up.
