While I think the list has contributed information on the 3rd Ward race, I
do think some worthy observations are being undermined by insult, etc. that
are violations of our rules.

PLEASE feel free to tout your candidate, or question the other guy, BUT:

Resist sarcasm ("If [candidate] cares to snow the ward with more
lit(ter)...")

Resist mockery (What has he done in the WARD, the whole Ward...that makes
him soooooooooo qualified??)

If you have a problem with a member's tone, e-mail me, don't complain about
it on the list (it only invites retaliation, and the rest of us roll our
eyes). (I have been horrified at the disrespectful things two people have
been saying about [candidate]...)

None of this should keep anyone from making their substantive points for or
against a candidate (or another member), or their issue stands.

Because this race is so interesting and important to the city, I want to see
the forum rise to the occasion. Already, people and campaigns are turning us
off - not because of the substance, but the needless topspin of insult, etc.

If you really want a discussion with/from a campaign or candidate - or
frankly, other members don't give them the easy out of using your scorn as
an out.

This is a discussion forum, and these rules are designed to keep everyone
talking.

Warnings follow from this point.

List manager
