First of all to the list, I am very sorry if I may have caused anyone of you to turn away from posting to the list. I would encourage you to post and continue to read the list. Sorry if at times my tone was quite harsh...I will be more mindful in the future..

***********************

(kp)I am a campaign volunteer for Don Samuels and I have been horrified at the disrespectful things two people have been saying about Don as a person, or the insults to Don's truly grassroots campaign.

(VF)You are horrified, because I have spoken for myself, a voter. I have that right. I have the right to be concern about our neighborhood and where I live. I have the right to speak about it.

I have not disrespected your candidate, I have merely stated my own opinion, Further more, I have never attached this man personally, I am sure he is a good person, I only speak about why "I" don't think he would be a good cm.

You and supporters speak on the fact of how confidant you are about your candidate, yet, you all are always's quick to respond to a voter who will not change their vote. Why? If there are potential voters on the list, I am sure, they are able to judge for themselves, as I don't pretend to speak for those, only "my own" opinions. As I have said before, I would hope that one would base their decision to vote for another, by their track record and not by a debate list.

(kp)The campaign suggested we not respond to slander because it is obvious there are two people who are looking for a fight.

(VF) Fight, slander, gee whiz, all because a voter speaks her mind? I guest if I were a supporter, I would then be the cream of the crop, since I am expressing my thoughts and opinions, then it is slander.

(KP)I am a student at the U of MN in Urban Studies and a Jordan resident for two years.

(VF), I too am a student, making the president's list two quarters in a row with a 4.0 gpa. We debate all the time in school, about positions that others take, in fact it is part of our grade. Not to mention most insightful.

Issues that concern me....of what "I" see:
High teenage rates, the stores that are on the corners with outdated milk and cereal and got the nerve to sell wic, most a front for drugs. If you have a car you are the lucky one, you able to get to better store such as Rainbow, Cub's. For those who don't have tosettle on spending the moey at these dreadful stores.

A park that our kids cannot use, because in the summertime it turns into gang control, a neighborhood where people can rob you and carry the stuff out in broad daylight because the police will not show up for another 40 minutes, a neighborhood, where you cannot even sit outside in the front yard for fear, that you and your child will get shot, a community where we have the highest out of home placement in the city, and to prove that where have Hennepin county child services on Broadway and out of that came the African American Adoption center.

Most importantly a neighborhood where young children out playing has been hit by speeding cars, because people speed through like this is 94 west. The loud music that has become part of a normal fixture here. Abandon homes, and homes where people can not afford to fix them up, because the money always stops somewhere else. When summer comes, the kids here have to turn on the fire hydrants, to cool off, because the parks off limits... Sexual predators that live within the northside, and since this is not other areas of town, we don't get proper notification. I myself have chased several possible freaks from the children in the neighborhood. The crack dealers, standing on corner, first thing Saturday and Sunday mornings.

The above issues or some of what I am very concerned about, and since I have talked with MOORE's campaign, I know where he is coming from, I have yet to see where Don stands on these issues...

(KP)I urge everyone who is interested in politics to try volunteering for a candidate you believe in!

(VF) I found someone I beleive in Olin Moore, and if the endorsement would not have been his, I would have supported Shane Price, Because he has never wavered in his commitments and is never limited to just one neighborhood, his actions speak louder than words. I would also urge everyone to go a step further and get involved in the DFL delegate process, where you can see first hand what goes on, not to mention have a say on who should be endorsed. Both of my adult boy's where brought into the process, and becasue of that they have their own mind and are Green supporters. We have debates all the time....in our home.
