I'm usually pretty quiet on the list. I figure I will give my thoughts.

I have to drive to and from work everyday. My job takes me to different
companies throughout the year. Most of my work is in the suburbs. The bus
system will not work for me. It would take major time out of my day.

Hiawatha is a highway. I'm not saying the speed limit should be 55, but the
current speed limit is not realistic. I think 45 is realistic.

The problem is like any other highway that goes through a neighberhood. No one
took in consideration the effect of people walking and riding back.

It to bad Hiawatha wasn't built up higher or have walk ways over the road to
accomodate people walking and riding.

Would increasing the speed limit hurt people from going to Lake Street? I
don't really think it's a big percentage. People either shop on lake/hiawather
or they don't. Personally, I don't shop on Lake/Hiawatha unless I'm driving
through. The speed limit going higher wouldn't stop me from going to
lake/hiawatha for my shopping.

Thanks,
