I wasted time and money last weekend going to St. Paul and the Megamall for Sears vacuum cleaner bags. They were out both places. Maplewood and Brookdale and some suburbs I've never been to had the bags in stock, but I couldn't drag myself out there. Why did Sears in Minneapolis close? A new Sears store there would be a great re-use. Vacuum cleaner bagwise, Minneapolis is a cold Sears Omaha. If you have to leave the city for your goods and services, this is more like it: a half-block into St. Paul on Franklin Avenue, you can get a tire fixed or a used rear view mirror at Prospect Auto Parts. A funkier yard or main office you could not want, and the upstairs waiting room has art and IWW literature. The place will close forever at the end of April, so hurry in and get that slow leak fixed.
