You can add the town of Bangor Maine to the list of places that are considering antiwar resolutions. I also hear from the St. Louis Park Greens that it has a good chance of passing there. The CMs of Minneapolis will show just how relevant they are in the current debate. It would be better if all these opponents would just be honest and say they support the war drive.
BTW, someone (I think Gary Bowman) wanted to know why we can't have a petition drive or referendum if this resolution is so popular. The reason we can't is that we are working on the imperialists' timetable. They began pushing their war last summer and while we won some time when they forced to go the UN, most people assumed that the Minneapolis City Council was as progressive as places like Waterville, Me (which just passed a resolution). By the time we realized our mistake it really was too late. So for all of you who expressed interest to me off list for a petition drive, I apologize for not getting back (though I kept your email addresses just in case). Like most people I have a life filled with commitments I can barely keep as it is. And it looks like antiwar work will be another one of those commitments. Linda Mann Kingfield TEMPORARY REMINDER: 1.
