Minneapolis council member proposes rescinding mediation directive David Chanen and Rochelle Olson Star Tribune Published Feb. 22, 2003
Minneapolis City Council Member Barb Johnson plans to propose next week that the council rescind its directive that the Police Department proceed with federally mediated talks with representatives of the city's minority communities. Johnson hopes the move will break a logjam in the mediation process by removing the legal basis for a petition that was filed by community members last month, asking a court to force Chief Robert Olson to carry out the council's mandate. http://www.startribune.com/stories/462/3668570.html Shawn Lewis, Field Neighborhood -- _______________________________________________ Sign-up for your own FREE Personalized E-mail at Mail.com http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup Meet Singles http://corp.mail.com/lavalife TEMPORARY REMINDER: 1.
