I would like to respond to Laura Sether's post on the new ethics guidelines with a heartfelt "its about time!" In the climate of the last year of indictments and convictions for illegal behavior by Council members, it behooves that group to lead the way in a public showing of cleaning up our act, city- wide. Ie, "do as we say, not as we do (or rather, have done)"
It actually floors me that the City doesn't have things like a nepotism policy already in place. Just assumed that we were following best practices all along. So my thanks to the team of folks that did the hard work to pull all this together, and I encourage the list members to attend the hearing, or voice your support to your councilmembers. Susan Herridge Lynnhurst TEMPORARY REMINDER: 1. Send all posts in plain-text format. 2. Cut as much of the post you're responding to as possible. ________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A City-focused Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
