I like the Block E building. I've been complaining for years about the lack of general movie theater in the City which forces people to drive to suburbs to see commercial movie. My son and husband and I saw the very first showing of the Two Towers at midnight and had a great time until we walked out at 3 am to a completely dead city (I mean, something out of the Twilight Zone, dead). Not knowing about the free parking and having forgotten to bring exact change for the bus, we ended up walking almost a mile until we found a cab. It would have been nice to be able to go to a restaurant after that movie but the message has always been loud and clear: this downtown only exists at night for hard core drunks and peepshow patrons (not that there were any of those around either).
