And that is just what you can do with the ARC. From this morning's paper, read http://www.startribune.com/stories/484/3776523.html The American Refugee Committee is planning its strategy right now. While most humanitarian groups are still looking for opportunities to get in, the ARC has, "'...An advantage because they (have contacts who) are native speakers, already on the ground, with basic training in relief work,' said Parmer, a former official of the U.S. Agency for International Development who took over leadership of the American Refugee Committee last year." They are looking for grant money from A.I.D. (which is an org I am familiar with) but need donations and other help beyond that. Contact numbers and info are at http://www.charitywatch.com/charitydetails.cfm?charityID=65 Or check your morning S'Trib. March 24, p. A13 Someone pointed out offlist to me that all the war will do is spawn young Osamas by the hundreds. I am thinking that reaching out a hand to help might turn a few of them away from hatred. or not. we should be offering help to people because they need it, not looking for a payoff, I think. In any case, if people can organize marches, maybe they can organize donations at the same time. Can't hurt; might help. TEMPORARY REMINDER: 1. Send all posts in plain-text format. 2.
