I was impressed by the organization, cooperation and other good aspects of
the peace march.

I am equally impressed that people are living in a country that permits and
protects people who want to protest their elected government's plan of
action. This certainly was not always the case, even in Minneapolis.
(Does anyone else remember the Red Barn? Tear gas on the MnU Mall? Masking
tape over the MPD badge numbers?)

May I propose that the people who did so well with the peace march now get
started on an "Occupation Forces" supplies drive?

If you agree or don't agree, our armed forces were sent into combat by our
elected government, and that is, indeed OUR elected government, which does
mean all of us, even if you stayed home and didn't vote at all. We still
have responsibility to do the "American" thing, even if we don't want the
responsibility and don't agree with the people who created the opportunity.

The people who are left standing after the fireworks are over are going to
need help.

Can our march organizers please start soliciting, storing, and getting
transportation ready for medical supplies, clean water supplies, dried
food, clothing, emergency shelter supplies, school supplies, etc.

I also wish the Star Tribune and other media would join the act by printing
lists of what to donate and where to donate it.

(Maybe I had too much fairy dust for breakfast this morning?)
