First of all I must apologize to anyone who attended our meeting for not contacting you sooner regarding our next move. The list of 64 names and address along with several other documents was stolen from me at a local coffee shop. Fortunately I had copies of the documents but not of the list. Here is what is going on now. KMOJ sounds good some might even say that it sounds excellent, but the sound of the station is not the problem. If you put a monkey in a million dollar suit, you still got a monkey. The stations board of directors has failed to secure funds to move the station. The station was able to get back in good graces with the state after our pressure. Everything that we have said about the station is slowly becoming reality. At the end of last month a complaint was filed with the Minnesotas Attorney Generals office calling for the immediate resignation of KMOJs board of directors. The basis for this complaint is that according to KMOJs by-laws board members are to be elected by members of KMOJ. KMOJ has no members and has not had any members for a long time. KMOJ board members have been appointing themselves to the board for over 10 years. After our complaint is successful we will be charged with appointing a new board of directors. We will be forming a committee of 11 people with in the next couple of weeks and we will announce our first meeting ASAP. If you would be interested in being on this committee please contact me. Please note that the time line of this will depend on how long the legal battle plays out. We will not just go away. If we dont do this we will loose our station. The staff of KMOJ is not the problem it is the self appointed board that governs the station. Please beware of the cosmetic job that the board will try to portray, by claiming that sounds fine so everything is fine. Dont believe it. Our ultimate goal is to have a station that not only looks good on the outside, but also looks good on the inside.
