My sincere question: if Lindner is often acting the fool, and the Gov. and lots of other Republicans say, more or less, "Yeah, that's Lindner," and the people most offended are gay, lesbian and African American and presumably immigrant African stand up and say, 'That's really offensive!' and the fracas is enough to have media reporting and commenting, is that enough?
Walker made the point that the job is difficult enough at this juncture that she didn't need to hear Lindner display his ignorance publicly in the middle of everything else the legislators have to do. She sounded tired and aggravated.
Another list poster mentioned that Karen Clark's letter was angry. She's been returned to the legislature every two years with something like 70% of the voters in her district for something like 16 years and in walks Lindner and puts her down publicly? I'd be bitter too. I'd be honked to high heaven. Who is this guy to put down a well respected colleague?
Had it been me, I would hope to have had my wits about me to answer something along the lines of this quote from an Irish parliamentarian, "I may be a lowly snail, but you, sir, could walk under me wearing a top hat."

Hi All!

I guess the ethics committee will meet Monday to begin to deal with the ethics
complaint.

Something to keep in mind is that the Rules include a provision whereby if the
comlaint is found groundless or frivolous, the signers of the complaint can be
censured themselves!

My gut feeling is that no one will end up being punished in any way and that the
deliberations will be short. There is just too much else if much greater import
to be done in the short 6 weeks left in session.

This whole issue is an annoying and needless distraction, with plenty of blame
to go around.

Cheers!

PS. Whoever screwed up the Neva Walker mailing really layed an egg. No excuse
for that happening. Unforgivable.
