Nick Frank has raised a concern that I share. As a Northeast resident who frequently passes through downtown to get to and from the Uptown area I have no problems saying that I am displeased with this policy.
The policy of closing streets to force people onto the freeway headed for the suburbs might have some value if no one lived downtown. But that's not the case anymore. This policy is, at best, unfriendly to everyone in the Northeast, Southeast, Downtown, and I imagine Bryn Mawr neighborhoods. Downtown is a cross road and it really ought to be accessible at all hours. I used to think of Minneapolis as being customer friendly. In fact in the last Mayoral election I did not vote for the incumbent because I felt the city had become customer un-friendly in her tenure. The closing of streets downtown is just one of those little things that I believe reduce the service level in this city. Jeremy Wieland Northeast TEMPORARY REMINDER: 1. Don't feed the troll! Ignore obvious flame-bait. 2. If you don't like what's being discussed here, don't complain - change the subject (Mpls-specific, of course.) ________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A City-focused Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
