Brauer: "However, most City Hall misdeeds are far more blatant...."

Heller: How would you know? You're unwilling to find answers to
obvious questions. Why don't you call Glen Taylor and just ask him.
You're a journalist -- he might take your call. Ask him for copies of
the checks that he paid to Minneapolis for "Personal Property Taxes"
over the past five years.

Brauer: " I don't mind getting details from public officials........"

Heller: How do you know if they are telling you the truth? How do
you verify what they tell you?

Brauer: .".....but this is starting to feel like a fishing
mission....."

Heller: You'd be amazed at what you drag in if you cast your net wide
enough. I've actually snagged a few reptiles.

New question to ponder: Why doesn't the City publish "personal
property tax" information? If it is "the same" as property taxes, it
should be available to the general public. Why do some businesses get
preferential treatment?

Each time I discover information that is withheld from the public, I
wonder why. How about you?

Vicky Heller, North Oaks

2. If you don't like what's being discussed here, don't complain - change the subject
