There may well be older, but Gardner Hardware in North Loop (on N. Washington Avenue) has been family owned for nearly a century, I think. Several generations of Gardners have owned it. If you go by the 100-years-makes-an-antique rule, then Curran's at 42nd & Nicollet doesn't count. But it started in the '40s as a drive-in soda shop and is now a full-fledged, full-service restaurant with great pies. It is one of the older commercial businesses in Kingfield.
