I was under the impression that earth-pounding mega-bass (coming from autos) was legal. You mean it's not?

I believe the legal limitation is that it must not be heard more than 50 feet from the vehicle. If it can be heard farther away than that, it's not legal. And I'd guess that MOST of them are loud enough to be heard several times farther than that!


But I've never heard of a ticket being issued for this. Can anyone from the city tell how many tickets, if any, have been issued for this?

P.S. Just a thought -- does this law apply to NWA planes that fly over my street? This evening, a very loud automobile sound system was completely drowned out by a Northwest plane coming overhead.
