Today's lead story in the Strib was 12 state troopers for Jordan. Granted 12 extra pair of hands are very helpful, but applying pressure in one precinct means a sudden influx of nogoodniks to other parts of the city. It's really not a very satisfying prospect either for the police or for the rest of us. On the Southside we're already seeing gangbangers known for working the Northside raid gardens and scout for opportunities to create havoc.
The whole process of dealing with gangs surely must include keeping a steady pressure on every place identified as a beachhead or nest for criminal activity. Having CCP/SAFE rendered toothless, cutting budgets for city and county attorneys offices, neutering the Gang Strike Force--a recipe for disaster.
This is just ducky.
