"Drug dealers are very clearly "bailing" from North
and setting up shop on Franklin and in Phillips again.
Also the idea that Pawlenty"s "Right to Carry law"
had anything to do with the crime in Jordan is about
as silly a political fantasy as could be imagined. "

I agree with Jim, I think it is a little too early to
blame it on Pawlenty. I want to talk about the idea
that the drug dealers are moving down to South
Minneapolis. I heard Council Member Samuels say the
same thing yesterday on the radio. If that is the
case, then Samuels should get a gold star for the day.

His efforts have only just begun, and already raised a
great deal of awareness about drugs/crime, especially
among the bad guys. Now if we can get some arrests and
jail terms for the people the police bring in, we can
affect some positive change.

I am glad Pawlenty made the significant gesture of
support by sending in the State Patrol. But I'm sure
it is nothing more than a gesture. The thing that
worries me is that now with the new state guns laws
will there be more guns on the street in Jordan?

Samuels said on the radio that he is organizing safe
walks through he newighborhoods, and the volunteers
will have only cell phones and walkie talkies. I hope
that is the case.
