I think Russell Sasaoka's response and N.I. Krasnov's response kind of miss
Terrell's point.

The street he refers to where the squad car was parked illegally is
designated as "No Parking" for a reason. Because the street is too narrow
for parking on both sides. So by ignoring that order, the cops are creating
an unsafe situation. What happens if an accident occurs because cars are
forced to squeeze around an illegally parked squad? Is MPD or the City of
Minneapolis liable for damages? If so, I hope any officer who did something
like that gets shown to the door. Anyone who engages in that sort of
brainless behavior has no business being a cop.

I have no problem with cops stopping for a meal break. But can't they use
just a little common sense and choose a place to do so where they can
*legally* park out front or in an off-street lot nearby the entrance if a
call comes in?

And for that matter, what happens if a call for assistance comes during the
middle of the meal - do they just skip out on the check or come back later
and settle up?
