>From David Brauer's post:

County Director of Transportation and Public Works Jim
Grube said the slip ramp and new entrance ramp would
move closer to the highway to keep ramps from flying
over residential areas.

Am I the only one who finds the concept of freeway
exit ramps "flying over" residential areas to be
beyond absurd? It never should have been included in
the first place! Really, while that design may have
technically done the job, it's exactly that kind of
bad livability design elements that give engineers a
bad name. I'm suprised that the public relations law
firm in charge, Smith Parker, didn't understand this
from the beginning! (or did they?)

Some folks are going to have to face the fact that in
a public works project done by committee no one gets
everything he/she wants. It's the nature of the beast.
That no one includes MNDOT, the county, the
architects, the engineers, and even Smith Parker.

David Piehl writes:
Apparently Wells Fargo and Allina aren't included in
that "no one", because they are getting everything
they wanted - oh, actually Wells Fargo isn't getting
the freeway exit ramp directly into their parking ramp
that they were interested in. Other than that, they
get their ramp, which is the "reason for the season"
when it comes to excess.
