Regarding my opposition to the Access Project

assassination) wrote:

You only make these charges because it affects your
tiny little silo, your house on the Healy Block (which
I'm guessing was subsidized by NRP in some way)

Perhaps in the spirit of the Access Project PAC, Scott
appears to be attempting to marginalize me and my
warnings about the Access Project by stating something
he doesn't know, then compounding that with an
"accusation" of using NRP funds (i.e. I couldn't
possibly have done it by myself?).

I oppose the Access Project for all the reasons I have
repeatedly stated; that has little if anything to do
with where my house is located, with the exception
that my proximity to the freeway causes me to think
about the issue more than the average resident.

For your information, the historic Healy homes (14
national register properties) will survive with or
without the Excess Project due to several contingency
plans that have been developed, no thanks to those who
are so willing to make one-sided "compromises" in
their lust for so-called amenities.

What in the world does NRP funding have to do with the
Excess Project debate? For your information: though
NRP has helped some great projects in the city, I did
not receive any NRP funding. Did you?

To date, the PAC has spent well over $2 million of
taxpayer dollars to come up with their plan.

I'd also love to hear if STRIDE really has the numbers
it claims

Suddenly STRIDE is responsible for Raucous Caucus?
(www.raucouscaucus.com) Give me a break! Perhaps
STRIDE is also responsible for the budget cuts!

Regarding numbers, it depends on how you define
"member". There is a core group of "founding"
members, there are folks who attend the meetings, and
there are folks who have signed up to be on STRIDE's
mailing list (which you can do on the website,
www.stride-mn.org). I think the number of people who
have signed up to be on the mailing list is around
500, give or take a few; that's significantly more
than are on the mailing list of the PAC, isn't it?
