Perhaps this is why I'm getting all the hassle from inspections- maybe the city want's my lot to plop a "Holman House" on? Given that vacant buildable lots are pretty rare, maybe the city is looking for low assessed value land to acquire. And what better way to drive the price down and discourage a challenge to the city's eminent domain "offer" than to harass the current owner?
City of Minneapolis, if you want my property, 'fess up to it and do business in an ethical manner. Given that it's 3 am and the local pimps and prostitutes are still open for business on my corner (Ontime Delivery truck 204 was the last customer), I'd probably accept a reasonable offer.

Steve Brandt is correct. Just to add: A 17-bedroom, four-unit rental Holman
replacement is proposed for an 80 foot by 125 foot lot, with no basements,
no garages and just four or five off-street parking spaces. I believe there
is no overnight parking allowed on this portion of Stinson (all or at least
part of the year), so off-street parking will be at a premium, as the side
street is the "short" direction of the block and across from a local
business. This lot size equals two minimum residential lots typical in this
neighborhood that might normally contain 5 or six bedrooms total between the
two lots/houses. Consequently, most of the 150 or so people who attended a
meeting last week on this proposal and spoke up were not too enthused about
it or the process. CM Ostrow got an earful. Discussions will continue in
some manner, as the Minneapolis Urban League is asking for input from a
neighborhood task force.
Gayle Bonneville Waite Park/Northeast Minneapolis -- yes, it's really in Minneapolis.
