[Mpls] 33rd and Stinson

  I was in the bakery this morning on 29th and Johnson NE (Sarah Jane's- 
voted #1 donuts by City Pages) and a sign in the window said that the 
property on the southwest corner of 33rd and Stinson Boulevard had been sold 
to "Minneapolis Public Housing".  The property is a cute little dime store 
and a crusty old transmission shop and it has been for sale for quite some 
time. The sign mentioned something about subsidized apartments or town homes 
for "low income" households. It listed a public meeting but I don't recall 
the day.  Does anyone have anymore information about the project?

Perhaps CM Ostrow has some information?

*I am not opposed to the project as long as it is well designed, although I 
am a doting fan of the old Dime Store building.  It would be a step towards 
the deconcentraion of 'low income' units and the replacement of those lost 
on the Near North Side. The neighborhood is pretty solidly middle class.
