We have R-1 zoning in Como, excepting grandfathered houses. The neighborhood organization fought to obtain that zoning in about 1986 or 1987, along with Marcy Holmes neighborhood. Prospect Park might have it too, but I'm not sure.
The house was a single family dwelling when it was bought by its present owners, and no zoning exceptions have been OR WILL BE granted. The law for SFD is that they may be occupied by no more than three adults unrelated by kinship or marriage. You could move a family of 12 in there and be in total compliance with the law. More than three unrelated adults is a code violation. :) At 08:28 PM 10/6/03 -0700, Constance Nompelis wrote: >Why on earth is a six-bedroom house (per the article) >zoned for only three residents????
