Correspondent Lickness says we'd be a poor town without business. I'm wondering if she gets the same Yellow Pages I get. I'd say Minneapolis won't have to worry about her nightmare soon.

"Congress shall make no law....abridging freedom of speech...or the right of people peaceably to assemble. and to petition the government for redress of grievances."
All the rest is mere commentary.

Apparently he must live out in Minnetonka. So, I guess he doesn't vote locally. His biggest threat: "I'll pull all my check cashing stores out." . That's makes my hair turn white (oh, I forgot, that happened years ago).

Corporate Welfare
Chris Johnson:"There's no such thing as a sure bet, and the taxpayers are not here to insure businesses against business losses."
Chris, I know you're right, but we have this horrible background of government doing it over and over. NWA. Target Center. We're up to our ears in DEBT because we used OUR money to keep MISmanagers around! Honor, once lost, is SO hard to reclaim!

Boarding houses
Bring 'em back! Our ordinances are CREATING the conditions for homelessness. There will be a stratum in society that can't afford a totally-equipped apartment unless (a) they are subsidized or (b) it is totally rundown and vermin-infested. HOW, I ask, is that "better" than a boarding house? When I first became financially independent, I rented a furnished room by the week. Ordinances have driven that option out of the market.
