I wish when planning the courthouses on either side of city hall the could have allowed for the "uncluttering" of the 'municipal' building by moving some functions out. There are so many layers and bad renovations clogging that building up. Most of the large ceremonial spaces have been chopped up or reduced in size. Many windows that once faced a center light court are almost all blocked up. The office spaces throughout the building are so dreary and cluttered, especially with the dropped ceilings and miles of fluorescent lights. They should allocate some money (in future of course) and clean house. There has been some restoration but wandering those back halls is like stepping through layers of wallpaper, one bad pattern at a time.
