Tim, the term "Breeder" is very derogatory.  It is not very different from
the ones that were once used on gay people.  Some people are flaming
heterosexual and darn proud of it, but "breeder" is about as insulting a
word as I can think of.
Well, I'm sorry if people found this insulting. I would have left that word out, if I had realized it would distract people from my comments.

My dictionary doesn't say anything about it being derogatory; I thought it was just descriptive. And not indicative of sexual orientation either; I have many gay & lesbian friends who have produced kids.

Growing up on a farm where our business was raising & training horses, I never thought the term breeder was insulting. In fact, my Mother was quite proud to be honored by her selection as "Breeder of the Year" (for her horses, NOT us kids!). Guess it means something different in the city!
