Eva Young: Rybak should be pretty pleased with the Strib lately - since
they've been doing nothing but Puff pieces on his choice for Chief.
Peter Schmitz: One of the "puff pieces" on Rybak's choice that appeared
in the Strib yesterday was written by Rochelle Olson, the same journalist
who did the "puff piece" just a few days ago on Rybak's fundraising
fiasco. Go figure.
And what about the puff pieces about Sharon Lubinski, posted to this
forum by Wizard Marks and Eva Young?
So far, neither list member has cited anything that Sharon Lubinski has
done to counter racism and violence among her colleagues.
Given the current racial divide caused, in part, by police brutality, and
given all the lawsuits filed against Minneapolis related to police
misconduct, we need someone like William McManus who has a strong record
of implementing reform.
Never thought I'd live to see the day when police reform opponents would
be caught in bed with our local vanguard of identity politics. Only in
Minneapolis . . .
