I cannot tell you the dollars and cents cost of tearing down Central High School, but the psychological and neighborhood cohesiveness suffered a mighty blow. There are some bitter, bitter memories among those who live here and went to school there. For many, their sense of community centered around that school. I think that's half the reason we all rose up in righteous anger and
organized when the city council member (SSB) tried to market the notion of closing Hosmer.
